My favorite street in the French Quarter. Running parallel to Bourbon all the way to Jackson Square, people never realize the treasure that it literally a block away.
I would stay at the Monteleone and get up at 7am to take my paper down to Cafe' du Monde for some coffee and benginets. The walk was always fresh and clean (opposed to Bourbon) with deliveries being made, people cleaning off their stoops with a hose, or huge hanging ferns being watered and the excess cascading down to the street.

Royal actually runs all the way through the French Quarter, through the Marigny and Bywater as well.
